"A Different Drummer" by William Melvin Kelley
Compelling story of African Americans who leave a town to establish a new city and community, the decisions that led up to it and the reaction of white members in the town.
"The New Negro" by Jeffrey Stewart
An amazingly researched biography of philosopher Alain Locke.
