Spring is around the corner and our campus community is about to take a well deserved break. However, we shouldn’t relax our guard towards the spread of COVID-19. We have done so well as a community keeping the virus at bay at the university. Our infection rates have been a fraction of what has been seen statewide, and our vaccination rates are close to 90%. Let’s keep that momentum going and keep ourselves safe.

Before you leave for break please take a moment to take an asymptomatic test to check your COVID-19 status. They are available from eight location on campus. This will prevent you from spreading the virus if you have it and are traveling over break. When you return from break, you should test again to make sure you are not bringing the virus with you into the classroom.

If you have been exposed to COVID-19, it is mandatory that you wear a mask while on campus for 14 days after exposure if you are vaccinated. If you are not vaccinated, you must spend 10 days in quarantine then continue to wear a mask for the final four days of that period when you are in public. In either case, you should be tested three to five days after the exposure to make sure you have not contracted the virus.

If you test positive for COVID-19, please quarantine for at least five days or until symptoms are no longer present. After that period, please wear a mask while in public for at least another five days.
