More than 1,000 Microsoft Online Learning courses are now available free-of-charge to university students, staff and faculty, thanks to a campus agreement between Microsoft and UIT’s Office of Software Licensing (OSL). Anyone eligible to download Microsoft software under the U’s Microsoft Campus Agreement is empowered to access this exhaustive new resource.
The expert-led IT courses are offered online, allowing users to learn on their own time, at their own pace.
“These interactive courses give members of our campus community important core technical training that will help them succeed, no matter where they are in their student or professional careers,” said OSL Vendor Manager Bill Lutz.
Simply visit this page and follow the instructions to enroll.
The courses, taught by Microsoft certified trainers, cover an array of product and technology topics like servers, operating systems and applications. Once enrolled, users see the entire online course catalog, which currently offers 1,472 beginner-to-expert courses. As a sampling, courses include 418 on the Microsoft Office Suite (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote), 43 about Visio, 119 covering the SharePoint Server and 68 featuring the SQL Server, among many others.
These self-paced courses may be exited and resumed after logging back in. Each course ends with an assessment, and printable certificates are earned upon successful completion.
