A staff member committed to training and supporting future psychologists in the Counseling Center. A U alumni mentor helping Dreamers overcome the obstacles of higher education and beyond. And a U student making an impact through an engineering internship at the New York Times.

These are just a few examples of individuals in the U campus community who are prioritizing and integrating career and internship development into their daily work. The Career & Professional Development Center (CPDC) will be honoring outstanding faculty, staff, employers, and students through its annual Career Impact Awards.

These awards were created to showcase the campus-wide effort of creating a culture committed to career and internship success for all students. This investment from these individuals directly aligns with the U’s central vision of “promoting student success to transform lives.”

“There is no more powerful influence than the real interest in a student’s career aspirations from a trusted faculty member, advisor or employer,” said Stan Inman, Director of the CPDC. “Now more than ever is the time to work collectively as a campus to help students successfully navigate their paths from college to career.”

Beginning Monday, April 13, the CPDC team will recognize its Career Impact Award winners once a day on Instagram, @uofucareers. Watch for, like and share the posts and stories with photos of the winners and quotes from their nominators.
