WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY
Saturday, Oct. 10
The World Health Organization has designated Oct. 10 as World Mental Health Day. The overall objective of the day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health.
Employees enrolled in the University’s Employee Health Care Plan have access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The EAP is a confidential counseling service that provides assistance with a variety of personal concerns and mental health issues, including stress, anxiety or depression, personal and emotional issues, marital, relationship and family counseling, grief or loss, substance abuse or other addictions.
Services are available through the EAP at no cost for all university employees enrolled in the Employee Health Care Plan, their enrolled dependents and other family members residing in the employee’s household. When needs exceed the scope of what is typically provided by the EAP, individuals are referred to appropriate behavioral health network providers.
