Getting involved at the University of Utah is not only a fun and exciting way to meet new people, but it also provides many positive leadership opportunities. With more than 500 registered student organizations, the U has something for everyone looking to get involved. Yet for some students, getting involved may seem like a daunting task while juggling academic success and having a social life. For those looking to get involved but not quite sure where to start, the involvement ambassadors are here to help.

Involvement Ambassadors are a group of students who are currently or have been engaged in various organizations on campus. This means that with their combined experience they are eager to help new or returning students get connected and make their campus experience more memorable. They do this by meeting one-on-one with students for involvement consultations where they discuss interests, goals, hobbies and much more. They will then find a set of student groups or organizations that they believe would be a good fit.

There are currently three Involvement Ambassadors that students can work with.

Sabah Sial

Sial is a second-year student studying finance, who is planning on attending law school after completing her bachelor’s degree. On campus, Sial is part of the 2022 Eccles Scholars cohort and is involved in service projects through the Bennion Center, such as OneCare Hospice and Project Youth. Outside of school, Sial coaches debate at Bingham High School. In her free time, Sial enjoys finding new places to eat on campus, as well as reading, hiking and cooking.

Sinndy Rios

Rios is a first-generation college student and a junior in the Honors College pursuing a double major in political science and sociology with a minor in ethnic studies. She was born in Guatemala and grew up in West Valley City, Utah. Rios was the 20th Hinckley Institute of Politics intern hosted by the Ibarra Strategy Group since 2007 during the Spring 2019 Semester. She is a member of several student organizations including Somos Dreamers where she helps advocate for undocumented students to pursue higher education. Upon graduation, Rios hopes to attend law school to become an immigration or civil rights attorney.

Lucas Brizolara

Brizolara is a junior studying psychology. On campus, he is part of Involvement Ambassadors, Student Leadership Council and the Honors College. Outside of campus, you can find Brizolara volunteering at the Rape Recovery Center. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, playing bass guitar, reading and cooking with friends.
