For the third year in a row, two University of Utah academic advisors have been recognized by the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) 2021 Global Awards Committee:
Jen Wozab, Certificate of Merit | Outstanding Primary Advisor
Madeline Rencher, Award Recipient | Outstanding New Advisor
The NACADA Global Awards recognize individuals and institutions making significant contributions to the improvement of academic advising within higher education, ultimately enhancing student success.
Before submitting an awards packet for the NACADA Global Awards, Wozab and Rencher were recipients of The University of Utah 2020 University Academic Advising Community (UAAC) awards. The UAAC committee then assists these award-winners through the NADACA Global Awards process.
NADACA takes several advising qualities into account in determining outstanding advisors including strong interpersonal skills, frequency of contact with advisees, evidence of student success rate and monitoring of student progress toward academic and career goals.
